SLA New England Ticketed Event Update: Boston by Foot Walking Tour: Transportation Update

SLA New England Ticketed Event Update: Boston by Foot Walking Tour: Transportation Update

Given the popularity of the Boston by Foot Walking Tour, we are offering shuttle buses to transport registered attendees to and from Faneuil Hall, the starting point of the tour.

The tour will begin at 5:00pm in front of the Samuel Adams Statue at Faneuil Hall.

Shuttle Bus Service to Faneuil Hall: From the convention center we will provide shuttle bus service to Faneuil Hall and at the conclusion of the tour we will drop off attendees at the following conference hotels: Westin Waterfront, Seaport Hotel, and Renaissance Hotel. Given we are offering a shuttle bus service, we will not meet at the SLA New England Chapter booth to walk to or from Faneuil Hall.

Boston Convention and Exhibition Center Location: Please meet the bus at the Summer Street Side

Boston Convention and Exhibition Center Pickup Times: We are offering two times: 4:00 pm and 4:35 pm. There will be plenty of seating so it does not matter which time you take…. you will have a seat. The 4:00 pm just allows you to walk around the area a bit before the start of the tour.

Return Times: Buses will arrive at the same spot at Faneuil Hall that it dropped you off. The buses will pickup at Faneuil Hall at 6:30 pm and 7:15 pm. Again, there will be plenty of seating so it does not matter which time you take…. you will have a seat. 7:15 pm just allows you to walk around the area a bit after the tour.

Return Drop-off Locations: The buses will drop-off at the following conference hotels: Westin Waterfront, Seaport Hotel, and Renaissance Hotel. I believe this will help folks attending dine arounds. For example, Legal Harborside is about a 5 minute walk from the Seaport and Renaissance Hotels. Barking Crab is about a 10-12 minute walk from the Seaport Hotel.

Public Transportation: For folks who will not use the shuttle bus service and prefer to meet at the start of the tour at 5pm. You can take public transportation. Nearest subway stops:
  • Orange Line: Haymarket Station and State Street Station.
  • Red Line: Park Street Station and Downtown Crossing Station.
  • Green Line: Park Street Station and Haymarket Station.
  • If you are coming from the convention center area then you need to hop on the Red Line. Either walk to Red Line: South Station or take the Silver Line and transfer to the Red Line.

Walking from the Convention Center Area: It is 20 minute walk. If not more. Here are instructions from the convention center: https://goo.gl/gtnEq3
